Obituary of Madlyn H. McKay

Madlyn H. McKay (nee Hunt), age 96, of Pittsford, NY, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2017 in the presence of her loving partner of 21 years, Dr. Bernard Isaacson. "Maddy," as she was fondly known by her friends and family, was born Madlyn Jesse Hunt to Agnes and Frank Hunt on August 16, 1921, in Malone, NY. She was the youngest of 6 children, all of whom predeceased her. She graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a teaching degree, and enjoyed an excellent career for more than 30 years as a highly respected and popular teacher in the East Rochester schools.

She was predeceased in 1994 by her husband of nearly 50 years, Robert F. McKay Sr., who she met while in college, and married after his service with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II. Maddy is survived by her 2 wonderful children, Susan M. (Michael) Fulton and Robert F. (Rebecca) McKay Jr., who reside in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was always so thankful to have had 2 terrific life partners, Robert F. McKay Sr. and Dr. Bernard Isaacson, who she dearly loved.
