Roslyn Carlinsky

Died peacefully on Sunday, November 5 at 86 years. Originally from Staten Island, NY, Roz was predeceased by her parents Helen and Moe and sister Audrey Moses. She is survived by brothers Sheldon (Joan) Carlin, Herbert Carlinsky, seven nephews, three nieces, one great nephew, Rochester family Sorina Goldstein and Rachelle Gruber,  bingo buddies Karen (aka Louise) Moscoe, Susan Calderon and Randi Winterman. A special thank you to the staff of 3SW and especially Mary Pellicane, her caregiver for 12 years, whose love and friendship meant so much to Roz. As a resident of the Jewish Home for 14 years, Roz developed many lasting relationships with the staff, residents, and volunteers. A special shout out to Bob, Michele, Ashley, Teresa, Sue, Gina and too many more to mention.Your love and generosity helped to create a home away from home for Roz.

Before moving into the Jewish Home, Roz lived at the Pinnacle Place apartments where she was able to live independently and made many friends. Despite her physical deficits, Roz loved to create art projects, complete word search puzzles, play bingo, correspond with friends from all over, spend holidays with her Rochester family and go out to lunch at the Olive Garden. She loved matzah ball soup, a good cup of coffee and shortbread cookies.

In short, she made the best of a very hard life.

Graveside Services will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11 AM in the Beth Hakneses Hachodesh plot of Britton Road Cemetery.

A gathering of friends and staff will take place at the Jewish Home of Rochester from 2-4 PM.
