Obituary of Jerome John Fruchtmann

Passed away on September 29, 2017 his 91st birthday. Predeceased by his nephew, Mark Coleman and brother-in-law, Irving Coleman. Survived by his sister, Anna Coleman; niece, Susan (Stephen) O'Neill; great-nephews, Zachary (Kelly) O'Neill & Adam O'Neill; family, Ethel Coleman and Howard Susskind. A kind and supportive Uncle, Jerome was one in a million. He was a member of his high school swim team, chief lifeguard at Coney Island Beach. He graduated from Michigan State with a Bachelor's Degree and continued his education at Steven's Institute of Technology obtaining his Master's degree. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. Following his service in the navy he worked in the petroleum and dairy industries retiring as VP of Operations. Jerome enjoyed being a mentor providing guidance to others when requested. He was a dedicated lifelong fitness enthusiast. A graveside service will be held, privately. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm.
